Our summer office  hours are Tues-Thurs.  9am-12pm The hours will change to Mon.-Friday 9am-1pm August 23-27.
The school will be closed for cleaning July 18-30.

Dear Parents of the Chariho School District,

REQUESTING CHARIHO BUS TRANSPORTATION

The process for requesting bus transportation for students from the Chariho
School District attending St. Pius X School has changed.  The State of Rhode Island
will now be handling all out of district bussing requests through their Statewide
Transportation Website. 

This change should not affect your current bussing situation.  Your child
will still be bussed by First Student in Wood River Junction; however, the form must
be completed online rather than being sent to you from St. Pius X School.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Student must reside in the Chariho School District.
- Bussing is for Kindergarten through Grade 8 students ONLY.
- An application must be completed for EACH student requesting bussing.
- The application must be completed online.  Hard copies will not be accepted.
- DEADLINE for completing applications is AUGUST 6, 2010. 
- Applications received after the August 6th deadline will delay your child’s
bussing status until September 13, 2010.

TO COMPLETE BUSSING APPLICATION:
- Go to – www.ride.ri.gov/finance/transportation.
- Click on “RIDE – Federal and State Funding”.
- Homepage is “Statewide Student Transportation Home”.
- Look to the right side – shaded box – “To request transportation for private/Catholic/charter schools”.
- Click on “click here”.
- Complete and send application for each child applying for bussing.

For questions and additional information please contact the statewide system’s office at
401-222-5024 or email transinfo@ride.ri.gov.  You will receive a letter from Statewide
Transportation with all your child’s bussing information after your application is completed and processed.

Hot off the press!...read all the great things happening at St. Pius X School from the students` perspective.  Click here.

The St. Pius X School Environmental Club has chosen to change the items for collection.

Please join us in making our world a little greener by sending us your used laser toners and inkjet cartridges for recycling. When recycled properly, the average cartridge can be reused us to seven times!

o Please save these cartridges for us during your summer break from school.

o Bring them home from your place of work.

o Ask your friends and neighbors to save them for you.

o Look for new collection boxes at church come September or October.

In accordance with diocesan regulations, all volunteers must read the code of conduct and sign off on the special form. I am urging all parents to read and sign off, as this will cover you for volunteering in the future as well.  We will be audited on all of the paperwork, and we have been instructed that only parents who sign off on the attached sheet and return it to the school will be able to volunteer.   We thank you in advanace for your cooperation in this matter.

Diocesan Presentation Deck

We are very honored to have available at the school "Quiet Light"  Songs of Prayer and Peace CD performed by Mrs. Eileen Fiore.  (One of the songs includes Mr. Fiore accompanying Mrs. Fiore). 

The tapes are being sold as a school fundraiser and proceeds go to the school.  If you are interested in purchasing the CD, please send your payment of $20.00 in an envelope with your name and number of CDs requested.
